It’s not secret A$AP Rocky has a love for Black Scale, so I wasn’t too surprised when I found that they had given him his own signature collection.
Alfred (of BS): Rocky has been a fan of Black Scale since before we actually met. It just so happened that I was working the sales floor the day he decided to come in and purchase items for his video shoot for “Purple Swag”. He had a great energy and was a genuinely nice guy. The video dropped and the relationship continued to grow organically. The response was so overwhelming that it made sense to do a collabo. The design influences were taken from what the A$AP crew liked about Black Scale. I tried to integrate all the aesthetics that drew the crew to the brand, always keeping in mind that they should look good in it when they wear it. via Complex
The line is slated to release in March.

At least once a season the Air Jordan brand will release a shoe that will cause folks to line-up for days and spend their rent money; this shoe is no exception. 2 months into the new year and Air Jordan IV White Cement shoes are slated to be released on February 18th. I personally prefer the cement 3′s over 4′s, but they both are definitely among the top 10 Air Jordans ever made.
Andre 3000 starts hius progression back to the limelight with a Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler commercial. Andre goes on to explain his style, personal grooming, and more.
“Style is taking what you have and what you were given and playing with it. It’s something that you have that nobody else has and you kinda just have to love it and nurture it and say this is me and I’m just gon’ blast it out to the world.”

When in industry, the attention of Karl Lagerfeld is something really dope to have, especially since Karl is one of the most prolific fashion designers of right now. A few days ago, he reached out to Azealia to celebrate the release of his line with Net-a-Porte, called ‘Karl’. He invited Azealia to perform her hit “212″ for a select audience at his house, and even went on to gift her with a customized Chanel sweater with his face on it (picture below).

According to the NYPost Jay-Z‘s other baby is starving…
Rocawear — the hip-hop clothing brand founded in 1999 by rapper entrepreneurs Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Damon Dash — laid off half the staff of its men’s and boys apparel division on Jan. 6, one day before Jay-Z’s wife, Beyoncé Knowles, gave birth to the couple’s baby girl. Rocawear’s New York headquarters — a 40,000-square-foot facility at 1411 Broadway where Jay-Z took an office in 2009 — fired 28 of its 56 workers for “economic” reasons, according to documents filed with the New York State Department of Labor.
Hip-hop isn’t resilient to lay offs. And to be real, Jay-Z hasn’t had majority ownership of the Rocawear brand since 2007 when it was bought out by Iconix for $204 million. The recent firings probably have something to do with the That’s Rocawear campaign not being a successful as the brand would have hoped it to be, as well as Jay-Z‘s promotional contract has expiring. Irregardless I’m not surprised. Urban apparel has lost market value. Too many brands not enough people.

I absolutely love when the Fedex man comes bearing gifts… The good guys over at Gourmet Footwear sent me a pair of their classic “Nove L” in a Sundance/Papyrus colorway. Continue reading “Detailed Look: Gourmet Footwear “Nove L”” »
Lil Wayne held a private event at Hotel Americano, in NYC last night, to showcase his new skateboard-inspired clothing line, Trukfit. Diversifying brands is the new wave, and I’m glad Weezy‘s caught on. With his backing they’re not starting small, Trukfit is slated to be released in Zumies stores nationwide later this year.
You can preview a piece from the line in the pictures and video enclosed. Props to Miss Info.
